Vision

What if AIDS could be cured? What if a diabetes patient was no longer forced to perforate his/her skin and veins? If stroke or Alzheimers disease could be treated and the patient kept full control over her/his body and brain?

That are really visions, but with the project NanoBioPharmaceutics we want to approach these aims directly: Controlling the properties of pharmaceuticals, guiding them directly to the place where they are needed, avoiding degradation of active substances. Passing the blood brain barrier, one of the most efficient barriers that nature has built up to protect the (human) brain, but also being the barrier that is most difficult to pass if transport of therapeutics to brain is neccesary.

NANOtechnology could provide us with the capabilities to use and influence BIOlogical systems with the means of PHARMACEUTICS. This explains the name of the project as well as the scientific disciplines, which will be coworking in this project.
